ULI About Us

Universal Logistics, Inc. founded by Morris A. Johnson II, was incorporated in the state of Georgia, July 1999. At that time Morris had ten years of progressive logistics experience in the transportation industry, which included his service as a logistics specialist for a major airline carrier and as vice president of a trucking company. During his tenure as a student at Georgia State University, Morris received an award from the National Contract Management Association-Atlanta Chapter for his acumen of strategic contract management, acquisitions and procurements. Today as a strong management staff and employees support CEO and President of Universal Logistics, Inc., Morris is committed to providing superior service.

Presently, Universal Logistics, Inc. is comprised of three business units – transportation, logistics, and sourcing. The transportation business initially began by providing long haul TL (truckload) transportation service as a power-only carrier for Schneider Logistics, Inc., a division of Schneider National Carriers, Inc. As a long haul TL power-only for Schneider, ULI had an on-time delivery average of 98% plus. We’ve assisted Schneider with delivering products for Ford, John Deere, GM, Kimberly-Clark, Kraft, Nestle, Proctor & Gamble, Wal-Mart, and others. As the transportation division of ULI began acquiring equipment in efforts of becoming a more full service carrier, ULI extended its transportation service to other companies with supply chains.

The logistics business of ULI offers end-to-end coverage of the supply chain through a full portfolio of logistics services. The sourcing business of ULI procures ornamental stones (granite) from the quarries of Brazil for wholesale distribution.
